Bhagawan's Physical Body was laid to rest amid vedic chants at the Sai Kulwant hall and with full state honours today morning.
Bhagawan's Nephew Shri.Ratnakar performed the last rites . Bhagawan's Maha Samadhi is at the spot where Swami delivered the most Memorable and Wonderful Discourses and where Swami's Darshan gave so much of joy and happiness to so many.
Once the last rites were performed by the many Vedic pundits, the red curtains were drawn at around 9:45 AM and the process started for laying Swami's Physical body in a pit, After about 40 Minutes, The curtains were removed for the people to have a glimpse of the Samadhi where Swami's Physical body was laid to rest.
Earlier, a little before 9 AM, the glass casket in which Bhagawan's Physical Body was kept for Final Darshan was removed and was wrapped in national flag for a brief while. Men of the Andhra Pradesh Armed Police sounded the last post and fired 21 shots in the air as a mark of respect. Then the Tricolour was removed and verses from Hindu, Christian, Islamic, Sikh, Judaism and Buddhist scriptures were read out by leaders from these sects. Later, The Divine Mangala Aarti' was performed.
Leaders from across the political spectrum were among the many thousands who attended the ceremony. The Darshan for devotees of Bhagawan's Samadhi will start at 12 noon today.
The political leaders who attended Swami's Maha Samadhi included Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka Chief ministers N Kiran Kumar Reddy and BS Yeddyurappa, Governors ESL Narasimhan and Shivraj V Patil, BJP leaders LK Advani, M Venkiah Naidu, Bandaru Dattatreya, former Andhra chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu and former Maharashtra chief minister Ashok Chavan.
The Moon was most clearly visible even during the day in Puttaparthi, It was never ever so visible as during Swami's Maha Samadhi. Swami's Divine Miracle and a Divine Sign that He is always and forever be with each and everyone of us.
Bhagawan once said that " I will always be there when My Message is spread and where Sevas for the Poor are done".
